WISH UPON A STAR

   Pada zaman dahulu kala, di Kerajaan Langit hiduplah Putri Orihime. Orihime sangat rajin & pandai menenun sehingga hasil tenunannya dibanggakan oleh orang tuanya, yaitu Raja dan Ratu Langit. Namun, Orihime jarang pergi ke luar istana dan belum juga memiliki pasangan. Karena itu, Raja Langit memutuskan untuk mencari jodoh bagi Orihime.
   Raja mengadakan audisi untuk mencari calon menantunya. Hasil audisi tersebut mengecewakan dan Raja akhirnya memutuskan untuk mencari jodoh bagi putrinya dengan cara menyamar menjadi rakyat biasa dan pergi ke kota. Raja yang tersesat ditolong oleh seorang penggembala sapi yang baik hati bernama Hikoboshi. Melihat kebaikan dan ketulusan hati Hikoboshi, Raja pun menjodohkan Hikoboshi dengan Orihime.

   Setelah pernikahan mereka, Hikoboshi dan Orihime sangat bahagia. Namun, kebahagiaan mereka menyebabkan mereka tidak lagi bekerja dengan tekun. Raja pun menjadi marah. Lalu bagaimanakah nasib Orihime dan Hikoboshi?

  Orihime dan Hikoboshi dipisahkan oleh Sang Raja. Mereka berdua harus berjanji untuk bekerja kembalidengan tekun, jika mereka memenuhi permintaan Raja tersebut maka mereka berdua diperbolehkan untuk bertemu kembali dalam kurun waktu 1 tahun sekali di Sungai Amanogawa pada tgl 7 bulan Juli. Inilah legenda asal usul untuk festival Tanabata di Jepang. Dimana anak-anak remaja menuliskan permohonan mereka pada kertas warna-warni dan digantungkan pada pohon bambu.
